Black & Decker® Launches Three New Compact Corded Drill/Drivers

Power, comfort and design combine for superior comfort and performance

TOWSON, Md. (October 4, 2010) – Black & Decker announced today the launch of a new line up of corded drill/drivers. Available in 3/8” (5.2 AMP), 3/8” (6 AMP), and 1/2” (7 AMP) models, the new drills each feature a compact design1 for added user comfort in drilling and driving tasks.

Black & Decker knows consumers want their corded drills to be compact in size, but deliver enough power to handle tough tasks in and around the house. Meeting this need, the DR340B 3/8” drill/driver leads the pack of new drill/drivers, at 12 percent smaller and 33 percent more powerful than competing drills.

3/8”, 6 AMP Corded Drill/Driver (DR340B)

  • 6.0 AMPs – provides plenty of power for demanding tasks such drilling holes for door lock installation
  • 3/8” All Metal Single Sleeve Keyless Chuck – for durability and better bit retention
  • Single Finger Trigger – for improved comfort and control
  • Comfort Grips – provide increased comfort while drill/driving

1/2″, 7 AMP Corded Drill/Driver (DR560)

  • 7.0 AMPs – easily handles the toughest applications such drilling into landscape timbers
  • 1/2” All Metal Keyed Chuck – adds durability and better bit retention
  • Side Handle – for additional control
  • Single Finger Trigger – for improved comfort and control
  • Comfort Grips – adds increased comfort while drilling/driving
  • Mid Handle Design – provides improved balance and control

Additional drill/driver features include:

  • Bubble level aids in accurate drilling (DR260B and DR340B)
  • On board bit storage for quick and easy access to screwdriving bits (DR260B and DR340B)

The Black & Decker corded drill/drivers will be available October 1, 2010 at Lowes, The Home Depot and Wal-Mart stores. Each of the drills comes with a two-year Black & Decker warranty.
