SmartSelect project icons illustrate with project photos where to set the drill for best performance. Need to drive 1/4″ to 1″ or longer screws? Need to drill a 1/2″ hole into metal? Or need a 7/8″ hole into wood? Simply rotate the dial to one of 11 different optimal drilling or screwdriving settings to get the best results! The easy-to-read icons eliminate trial and error of drilling too fast or too slow, which can damage a work surface or project materials. SmartSelect also prevents screws from being stripped, driving screws too far into a work surface, or drilling too fast or too slow.

A speed indicator for the two-speed transmission on the drills displays the drill speed. A battery-charge indicator displays how much charge remains before recharging is necessary to ensure top performance.
